A ház rövid története:
Ezt az 1906-ban épült 3 emeletes, műtermes, körbezárt udvaros szecessziós bérházat Ernst Mór, Ernst Lajos műgyűjtő édesapja építtette. Tervezője Fodor Gyula, ugyanaz az építész, aki később az Ernst Lajos által alapított Ernst Múzeumot is tervezte. Ernst Mór és felesége, Steiner Róza 1906 tavaszán vásárolta meg a telket, az építésiengedély-kérelmet az építész nyújtotta be. Az elnyújtott udvar hosszabbik szárán folyosók futnak, a rövidebben loggia látható. A hagyományos pesti bérházaknál tágasabb, levegősebb ez a térformálás, így az udvari lakásokba is több napfény jutott. Ez a megoldás jellemző Fodor Gyula munkáira.

A klasszicizáló homlokzat függönyíves pártázatát hármas kompozíciójú relief díszíti. A pártázat mögötti műterem első lakója Kisfaludi Stróbl Zsigmond volt. A pártázat díszítésével összhangban, a kapualjban is mezőgazdasági munkát ábrázoló dombormű látható, a lépcsőházban pedig látványos színes üvegablakok.

A ház falán márványtábla örökíti meg dr. Fürjes Sándor honvéd alezredes emlékét. Az emléktábla szövege: "Ebben a házban lakott dr. Fürjes Sándor (1896-1948) honvéd alezredes, posztumusz ezredes. A náciellenes katonai ellenállás résztvevője, 1947-ben ebből a házból hurcolták el és szovjet munkatáborban halt meg. Magyar Nemzeti Ellenállási Szövetség 1996."

Brief history of the house:
Built in 1906, this 3-story Art Nouveau apartment building with studio and enclosed courtyard was built by Mór Ernst, the father of art collector Lajos Ernst. It was designed by Gyula Fodor, the same architect who later also designed the Ernst Museum founded by Lajos Ernst. Mór Ernst and his wife Róza Steiner bought the plot in the spring of 1906, the building permit application was submitted by the architect. Corridors run along the longer side of the extended courtyard, and the loggia is visible on the shorter side. This form of space is more spacious and airy than traditional apartment buildings in Pest, so even the apartments in the courtyard received more sunlight. This solution is typical of Gyula Fodor's works.

The curtain arch part of the classicizing facade is decorated with a triple composition relief. The first resident of the studio behind the party was Zsigmond Kisfaludi Stróbl. In accordance with the decoration of the party, a relief depicting agricultural work can also be seen at the bottom of the doorway, and spectacular colored glass windows in the staircase.
